Prime Minister Boyko Borisov wants full check of Bulgarian National Radio's management

The Bulgarian Socialist Party has demanded the creation of a parliamentary committee of inquiry over the recent scandal, related to stopping BNR's major broadcast - Horizon, for 5 hours on September 13.

Socialist leader Cornelia Ninova has spoken of dictatorship in action. "Turning off the BNR signal is an unprecedented case in the history of Bulgaria. We want political responsibility taken, as well as the whole truth revealed," Ninova said.

GERB MPs had argued that setting up a committee of inquiry was unnecessary. "What we could do is changing the legislation, as changes are needed," GERB MP Toma Bikov said. Later, however, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said that GERB would join BSP's request and would also propose that the National Assembly decided for "the National Audit Office, as the most independent supreme authority, to enter the BNR and verify the whole management so far."
