Moscow expects Bulgaria to refrain from steps that would worsen its relations with Russia

Moscow is acquainted with the charges pressed against the Chairman of the Russophiles Movement Nikolay Malinov and hopes that Sofia will not undertake steps that may deteriorate the bilateral relations between the two countries, the Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said. The activity of this non-governmental organization contributed to the development of the bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between Russia and Bulgaria, Maria Zakharova pointed out. Several days ago Nikolay Malinov was indicted of espionage. According to the prosecutor’s office, Malinov worked in favor and provided information to two Russian organizations-The Double-Headed Eagle Society and the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.
