Bulgaria continues to be candidate for membership in Schengen Area

Bulgaria did not give up entering the Schengen Area. This country will become a Schengen member, but the problem is that Schengen is now different than what it was. People cannot cross the Schengen border between Austria-Germany without identification papers anymore, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov said. The only change after Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen will be that the Bulgarian citizens will not have to show identification documents at the border anymore, Premier Borissov added and underlined that Bulgaria has zero problems with the migrants from Turkey. The bigger problem is along the Bulgaria-Greece border, because nearly 150 people cross this border on a daily basis. That is why the Bulgarian government has sent an extra 300 people to strengthen security in this region.
