According to the head of the Institute for Analyzes and Assessments in Tourism, Rumen Draganov, this summer, the decline of the number of tourists in this country equals to about 100 thousand people, but "figures in tourism always show that after significant rises, declines follow". The expert participates in the 69th conference of the International Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism (AIEST), which is being held in Varna. He pointed out that "Bulgaria is a year-round tourist destination", adding that during the summer season the country welcomes the largest number of foreign tourists. The number of Bulgarian tourists is also the highest during the summer months when a little over 50 percent of annual tourist trips take place. In autumn about 1.7 million foreign tourists visit Bulgaria, while winter comes second after summer when the number of tourists is concerned. The weakest season is spring - with 1.1 million foreign visitors, the expert said.
