Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has convened a meeting on the problem of African swine fever. He demanded that the state showed an ability to cope with the epidemic because it affected not only animal farming industry but also all Bulgarians who breed domestic animals. President Radev added that there could be a solution only through the combined efforts of institutions, local authorities, businesses and all citizens who needed a large-scale information campaign on the risk of infection. Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva reported that the measures implemented by Bulgaria are in line with the EU strategy to combat the disease, adopted in 2015.
