Antoaneta Stefanova wins title at chess tournament in China

Former World Chess Champion Antoaneta Stefanova won the title at the prestigious International Women's Chess Open in the Chinese city of Shaoxing. The competition took place under the Swiss system in nine rounds. There were 34 contestants from 9 countries, including four former world champions. The Bulgarian won the title without a loss. In the last ninth round, the Grandmaster finished in a draw against Harika Dronavalli from India, which was enough to win the title. This has been Stefanova’s first title since she gave birth last year. She received a cheque for 40,000 US dollars for the success.
