Russian state-owned corporation Rosatom has been planning to take part in the tender for the construction of second Bulgarian nuclear power plant - Belene. This was announced by Rosatom Director Alexei Lihachov at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg. In 2006, Atomstroyexport, part of Rosatom, won an international tender for the construction of two units of this nuclear power plant and equipment was delivered to the Belene site.
