Bulgarian students have won five medals at the European Physics Olympiad - one gold, two silver and two bronze. The Olympiad took place in the period May 31 May – June 4 in the Latvian capital of Riga. Over 180 students from 36 countries participated in the competition. 12-grader Georgi Aleksandrov from the "Paisii Hilendarski" School of Mathematics in Sofia won the gold medal. The participation of Bulgarian students in the Olympiad was financed by the Ministry of Education and Science.
