Today, the followers of yoga in Bulgaria said last farewell to Ventseslav Evtimov, the founder of the yoga movement in this country, who passed away on May 25 at the age of 87. By profession he was an electric engineer. After being diagnosed with many diseases, he turned to yoga at the age of 33. "Yoga gave me something I did not have - health," Evtimov would later say. He attracted people interested in yoga around him and in 1966 the first yoga school in Bulgaria was formed. In 1978, Evtimov was among the people who helped the establishment of the Yoga section of the Bulgarian Union for Physical Education and Sport. In 1981 he published his book "Yoga", which deals with all aspects of the hatha-yoga school. It attracted thousands of Bulgarians to yoga.
