In a video message to the Bulgarian people, two days before his arrival in Sofia, Pope Francis said that his visit to Bulgaria would be a pilgrimage of faith, unity and peace. In the address, the head of the Roman Catholic Church said his upcoming meeting with the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte and the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church would show the desire for following Lord Jesus on the path of brotherly communion among all Christians. Pope Francis's message ends with the wish "God give peace and prosperity to Bulgaria!"
