The Bulgarian Agriculture Fund has checked 110 guest houses or 18% of all built with EU funds, Minister Rumen Porozhanov reported. Fines of over 5 million euro have been imposed. For 32 sites, a full refund has been requested, as well as partial refund for the others. After an analysis, the builders of the guest houses will be checked in some places, the minister added. If embezzlement wass discovered, prosecution should deal with it without compromises, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said. The aim of the program from 2007 to 2013 was to support tourism and many of the houses are used as intended. Unfortunately, there is always someone who can ruin the program, PM Borissov pointed out.

At the order of Borissov, the Minister of Agriculture requested the resignation of Deputy Executive Director of the State Agricultural Fund Ivanka Bagdatova-Mizova. The reason is that Mizova's phone was listed on a reservation site for guest house "Tara" in the village of Yundola.
