Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov has ordered an investigation into all guest houses on the territory of Bulgaria, financed under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and whether they are used as such.

The launch of the investigation comes days after probes were initiated, over media publications, into alleged misuse of guest houses by former Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev and by the family of Bulgarian Socialist Party MP Elena Yoncheva.

A probe has also been ordered into the use of cars acquired under EU funding.
