Bulgarian National Assembly adopts amendments to Foreigners Act in connection with Brexit

UK citizens willing to stay in Bulgaria in case of a possible no-deal Brexit will have to apply for residence permit until the end of 2020, the new amendments to the Foreigners Act, approved by the Bulgarian National Assembly read. The new act will regulate the entry and the residence of British citizens in Bulgaria, except for the cases when they have already settled and built permanent connections with this country. The security checks will be equal to the checks of the British competent authorities in relation with candidates who apply for a status in the United Kingdom.
