At a conference in Sofia entitled Explore USA, Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov stated that the US has a permanent place among the top 20 of Bulgaria’s biggest trading partners.

Last year alone trade between the two countries went up by 22 percent, reaching USD 561 million which significantly exceeds the previous record from 2012. The American market is a principal buyer of Bulgarian IT commodities, such as hardware components, integrated circuits and electric resistors. The US accounts for 10 percent of Bulgaria’s total exports in this sphere, Minister Karanikolov said.
