The construction of the railway line between Bulgaria and North Macedonia will cost us EUR 400 million, Bulgaria’s Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov announced. Bulgaria needs another EUR 200 million for the reconstruction of the railway link with Serbia. The investments in railway infrastructure until 2027 are estimated at EUR 1 billion. After 2020 we will continue to work on improving connectivity in the region with a focus on North Bulgaria and the trans-border regions, Minister Zhelyazkov pointed out. The construction of Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo motorway and Vidin-Montana highway will be our priority after 2020. The Bulgarian government supports the Bulgarian haulers and has not changed its position on this issue. That is why want to see whether the Mobility 1 Package will be included in the European Parliament’s agenda until March 27, Rosen Zhelyazkov went on to say.
