Bulgaria to take part in European auctions for vaccines and antiviral medication

Bulgaria will conduct joint auctions, with the other EU countries, for antiviral medication and vaccines. The government approved the framework agreement on a joint procurement mechanism for medical countermeasures, and submitted it to parliament for ratification.

The international document has been signed by almost all EU countries, with the exception of Bulgaria, Finland, Poland and Sweden. The joint procurement mechanism was approved after a number of EU countries had problems coping  with the 2009-2010 influenza epidemic.
