Bulgaria’s Border Police receives new off-road vehicles bought with EU financing

At a special ceremony in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia this country’s Border Police received 70 off-road vehicles bought with money granted by the European Commission to Bulgaria to deal with migration pressure. Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior Mladen Marinov pointed out at the ceremony that although migration pressure is now low, Bulgaria is a frontline country and is among the EU countries threatened by illegal migration the most and the new vehicles will boost the mobility of the Border Police units along the EU external border.
