Vice President Iliana Yotova has opened a commemorative plaque at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust for the Rescue of Bulgarian Jews during the Second World War.
At the ceremony, the Vice President pointed out that the story of rescuing the Bulgarian Jews is a message to all about the tireless pursuit of peace - between states, between peoples, between individuals. A commemorative plaque for the Rescue of the Bulgarian Jews was also unveiled by the Bulgarian Vice President at the Museum of Tolerance in LA. "With these plaques we also express our sorrow for 11,343 Jews from territories, at that time ruled by the Bulgarian authorities, whom we could not protect in the same way," Yotova said.
