Bulgaria and North Macedonia have the potential to reach the 1 billion euro mark in bilateral trade, though there is still a lot more work to be done to build connectivity, friendship, business contacts, as well as new border checkpoints, said President Rumen Radev after a meeting with Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov in Sofia.

“The smoothest and most direct route to the EU North Macedonia can take is to respect historical facts,” said President Radev, and asked Minister Dimitrov to make sure the works by Bulgarian Revival-time figures and more modern writers are published in their entirety, without any changes to the text.
