Bulgarian government increases minimum monthly salary to EUR 286

The Bulgarian government increased the minimum monthly salary in this country. On January 1, 2019, the minimum salary becomes EUR 286. Bulgaria’s cabinet hopes that with the latest wage increase the low-income Bulgarians in active age will have a higher motivation to search for jobs. Moreover, the increased monthly wages will help some people keep their living standard and will reduce poverty risk. The minimum hourly pay becomes EUR 1.72.
