Morocco is a promising foreign trade partner to Bulgaria: Boyko Borissov

“To us, Morocco is a promising foreign trade partner and this is evident from the growing trade between the two countries in recent years. But there is still untapped potential which it is our aim to develop,” said Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at a meeting with Dr. Saad-Eddine El Othmani, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The two met in Rabat, where PM Borissov is paying a two-day official visit. In Boyko Borissov’s words, it is Bulgaria’s wish to take part in joint projects within the frameworks of EU programmes, implemented in Morocco, and avail itself of Morocco’s strong presence on the African continent as a platform for joint economic and political cooperation with third countries of Africa.

The two prime ministers highlighted construction, textiles, tourism, transport, processing plants and the food industry as promising spheres of investment cooperation.

At a meeting later in the day between PM Borissov and Abdelhakim Benchemach, President of the House of Councilors (upper house) of the parliament of Morocco, the sides commended the state and the prospects of development of the friendly relations between the two countries.
