The world is a dynamic and controversial place, and this means one thing - Bulgaria needs a modern and capable army that is compatible with its allies. This priority must be brought to the attention of the state and senior military leadership, President Rumen Radev said.

The Head of State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces held a speech at the "G. S. Rakovski" Military Academy in Sofia, which marked the Day of the Land Forces. Commander of the land forces, General Mihail Popov also congratulated all troops.

Commenting on the current political situation in the country, President Radev said that as a head of state he would always be on the citizens' side. "People see that they are not a priority for the current government and their trust in it drops," he said. In this sense, the head of state has identified the protests, which have been held for several days in different cities of the country, as "legitimate and justified". I am ready to meet the leader of the GERB party, Mr. Borissov and to listen to his vision of dealing with high-level corruption, of stopping the catastrophic collapse of investments, and of catching up in economic terms with the Central and Eastern European countries, that are now far ahead of us when it comes to economic growth, President Radev pointed out.
