Bulgaria and Azerbaijan give start to Strategic Dialogue

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov is on a visit to Bulgaria. This has been the first official visit to Bulgaria by a foreign minister from Azerbaijan since 2008.

In the Bulgarian capital city, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan launched a Strategic Dialogue that has been identified as a natural continuation of excellent bilateral relations. The talks include concrete steps to deepen cooperation in energy, trade, investment, tourism, security, education and culture. Parliament President Tsveta Karayancheva and Minister Mammadyarov expressed the readiness of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan to cooperate in the construction of transport infrastructure linking Europe and Asia. Karayancheva added that this country is interested in the proposal of Azerbaijani company SOCAR for the gasification of Bulgaria for domestic purposes.
