It is my honor and pleasure to take part in the opening of the new Istanbul airport, taking place on the national holiday of neighboring and friendly Turkey - October 29. This was what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

PM Borissov expressed his conviction that the new Istanbul airport was a significant step in the realization of infrastructure connectivity of the region with the EU, which was among the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of EU. The Bulgarian Prime Minister is firmly convinced that, in addition from being Bulgaria's neighbor, Turkey remains an important partner in areas such as migration and fight against terrorism, as well as in the spheres of energy, agriculture and trade.
