“The name of the Red Cross organization in Bulgaria is an emblem of disaster and crisis relief aid, but also a symbol of humanity and a humane society,” said President Rumen Radev at a meeting with Francesco Rocca, President of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Francesco Rocca praised the work of the Bulgarian Red Cross inside the country but also in the region, adding that the Bulgarian organization plays a leading role in the Balkans and that this potential must be utilized. He acquainted the Bulgarian President with a project for the creation of a disaster preparedness logistics centre in Bulgaria to attend to the entire region, as well as a school for paramedics from the Balkan region.
