Legendary saxophonist Jan Garbarek will please his fans on November 3 at the last concert of the Plovdiv Jazz Festival. A special guest in the program is world-famous Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu. The international jazz forum is officially opened on October 31 with an exhibition of artworks from the collection of Nikolay Nedelchev. Next comes “The Eliane Elias Night" - a concert of the Brazilian singer and pianist.

On the Day of the Bulgarian Enlighteners (November 1), the festival organizes a literary discussion under the motto "The Bright Gravity of Words". The concerts of Dena DeRose (USA), Teodosii Spassov and Vlatko Stefanovski are also on November 1. Dena DeRose will also hold a master class in jazz singing and piano. On November 2 the audience will hear Dave Holland Quartet. He started his career from Miles Davis's quartet and over the past 50 years the double bass player has been performing with the biggest names in jazz. Along with him on the stage in Plovdiv music lovers will see famous saxophonist Chris Potter.

Traditionally, the festival will give its award for contribution. This year the award will be given to jazz band "White, Green, Red" from Plovdiv. The award will be posthumously presented to great jazz pianist Rumen Toskov-Rupeto, who in 2018 would have been 50 years old.

The program of club concerts at Bee Bop Cafe is interesting and well-selected. There will be concerts by Milen Kukosharov's quartet, Hristo Yotsov & Jazz Cats, Plovdiv Octet and pianist Ivan Garbachev who will present his new album.

This year, Plovdiv Jazz Fest includes a Youth Contest. Finalists will hold a concert on November 3, when the jury will select the winners.
