The protective fence along the Bulgarian-Romanian land border has been completed, as its aim is limiting the movement of wild animals. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Yanko Ivanov.

Currently, there are no cases of African swine fever in this country, Ivanov said. However, the latest data is alarming, as an outbreak of the infection has been identified in a large pig farm in Romania - the second largest in Europe with over 140,000 animals, located about 50 km from Bulgaria. The number of outbreaks of African swine fever confirmed on the territory of Romania is over 700 in more than 150 localities.
