As of today, 1 August, citizens of third countries for whom there is an alert in the Schengen Information System by force of which they have been refused entry or stay in the Schengen Area, shall be refused entry into the territory of Bulgaria.

Refusal of admission to Bulgaria shall be enforced in cases when a third-country citizen approaches a Bulgarian border check point, who has been imposed an entry and stay ban in the Schengen Area by one or more EU member countries. Persons who are already in the country’s interior without a residence permit and who have been refused admission, shall be subject to expulsion from the country, the Interior Ministry says.
