Premier Borissov and Rosatom First Deputy Director General Kirill Komarov discuss cooperation in nuclear power generation

Bulgaria and Russia have been cooperating successfully under the project for extending the lifespan of units 5 and 6 of Kozloduy nuclear power plant, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and Rosatom First Deputy Director General Kirill Komarov agreed. In Premier Borissov’s words, the extension of the life of the two nuclear reactors of the Bulgarian nuclear power plant is among the priorities of the Bulgarian cabinet in the energy field. The security of the Bulgarian energy system will be guaranteed through the retention of the capacity of the nuclear power generation, Premier Borissov went on to say. Rosatom’s First Deputy Director General Kirill Komarov welcomed the decision of the Bulgarian government to restart the project for construction of the Belene NPP. Russia is ready to provide assistance during the fulfillment of this project, Kirill Komarov said.
