New car sales in Bulgaria mark significant increase

Over the first 6 months of this year the number of new cars registered in Bulgaria has gone up by 21.6 percent, reaching 18,082, compared to the same period of last year.

According to data of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, ACEA, in percentage terms there are only four countries ahead of Bulgaria – Romania (33.5 percent), Hungary (29 percent), Lithuania (24.6 percent) and Greece (23.7 percent). New car sales within the EU have gone up by 5.2 percent year-on-year, after the anemic rise in May by a mere 0.8 percent. These latest figures are seen as a sign of a certain improvement in economic growth in the EU.
