Bulgaria and China signed bilateral agreements in the energy, infrastructure, tourism and cultural exchange fields within the frameworks of the official visit ofthe Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang to Sofia. Bulgaria can develop industrial, economic, financial and other business relations with China in line with the European rules and regulations.

This is my first visit to Bulgaria after the establishment of the new Chinese government and the first stop in or European trip, the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang pointed out. Premier Li Keqiang has arrived in Sofia to take part at the7th CEEC-China 16+1 Summit. China knows that the EU is an important power for the global prosperity and will respect its market rules and the EU law, Premier Li Keqiang said after his tete-a tete meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov.

China does not aim to divide the European Union via its meetings with countries from Central and Eastern Europe in the 16+1 format. This was the message of the two prime ministers after their talks in Sofia. It was also announced that Bulgaria would receive support for the project of a second N-plant at Belene for which Borissov has been assured by Li Keqiang.
