Folklore Dance Panorama 2018 starts with two concerts in Sofia

This year’s edition of the Folklore Dance Panorama 2018 includes a total of 16 concerts. Sixty folklore ensembles will participate at the Folklore Dace Panorama in fifteen Bulgarian cities. The panorama will continue until the end of 2018.The sixth edition of Folklore Dace Panorama began several days ago in the city of Plovdiv with a colorful show in the Ancient Theatre.

The next events will be held on June 16 at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. The programme envisages an afternoon and an evening concert. Ten folklore groups from Sofia and the nearby towns and villages will participate at the concerts. The audience will enjoy the performance of Philip Kutev National Folklore Ensemble, Ensemble Graovo- Pernik, Folklore Ensemble Sredets, Folklore Ensemble Balkan, Student Folklore Ensemble Zornitsa, Folklore Ensemble Kremikovtsi, Folklore Ensemble Sofia 6, Folklore Ensemble Folklorika, etc. According to the Bulgarian Dance Art Foundation which organizes the event, the folklore panorama has gained huge popularity in the recent years due to the increased interest in the Bulgarian folklore traditions. Moreover, the number of folklore formations has increased significantly and many young Bulgarians joined such folklore groups.

On June 17 the coastal city of Varna will host the Folklore Dance Panorama 2018. Then, the event will continue with concerts in other big Bulgarian cities –Burgas, Stara Zagora, Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Dupnitsa, Shumen, etc. Many popular professional and amateur formations and folklore groups have joined this national folklore festival. The aim of the Bulgarian Dance Art Foundation is no only to present, but also to support Bulgarian formations in the field of traditional dance art.
