Attracting young people to the sphere of agriculture was the focus of debates at the informal meeting held in Sofia by the Council of Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries of the EU.
Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Rumen Porozhanov pointed out that less than 6% of farmers in Bulgaria were currently under the age of 35, while 56 percent of farmers were over 55 years old.
