China National Nuclear Corporation confirms Interest in Bulgaria's Belene NPP project

Bulgarian Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova and Mr. Xie Jiajie - President of CNNC Zhongyuan Engineering Co, have discussed possibilities for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.

Minister Petkova has informed the Chinese side about the Energy Minister’s report, approved in May by the Council of Ministers, calling for resuming activities related to opportunities for realization of available assets under the project for second Bulgarian nuclear power plant.

The China National Nuclear Corporation has once again confirmed its willingness to participate in a bidding process for choosing a strategic investor in the nuclear facility.
