Interior Minister Valentin Radev met with his Austrian counterpart Herbert Kickl within the frameworks of the Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting taking place in Luxembourg.

The two discussed various aspects of the current Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the sphere of home affairs in view of the future responsibilities Austria will be assuming as of 1 July.

“We are leaving you a good legacy which I believe you shall continue in a spirit of consistency,” said Valentin Radev and assured his Austrian counterpart that he can always rely on assistance on the part of Bulgaria, a gesture we ourselves were accorded by Estonia.
