In Kiev Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and Ukraine Boyko Borissov and Volodymyr Groosman opened a square and unveiled a memorial in honour of Bulgarian politician Dimitar Peshev, who contributed to the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during the Second World War.

PM Borissov thanked for the implementation of the initiative, and Groosman pointed out that the work done by Dimitar Peshev must be remembered. The Bulgarian Prime Minister has paid a visit to Ukraine at the invitation of President Petro Poroshenko. Borissov told his host that Ukraine occupied an important place in Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities and that the two countries enjoyed friendly relations based on the historical, cultural, linguistic and religious proximity of their peoples.

President Poroshenko thanked Bulgaria for Bulgaria's support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for its opinion on issues like visa facilitation and economic ties with EU countries.
