Bulgarian President Radev welcomes EBU Director General

Public media is responsible to citizens for promoting professional standards in journalism and focusing on socially relevant topics in a world of increasing media and finance concentration. This was the general position voiced by the Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev and Director General of the European Broadcasting Union, Noel Curran, who met today in Sofia.

The meeting was attended by head of the Bulgarian National Radio Alexander Velev and the Director General of BNT, Konstantin Kamenarov.

President Radev has pointed out the need for improvement of media legislation in Bulgaria with the aim of increasing transparency of media ownership and financing.
