Swiss President Alain Berset: Bulgaria is good mediator between Western Balkans countries and Switzerland

"Bulgaria is a good mediator between the countries of the Western Balkans and Switzerland". This was what President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset said at a meeting with Bulgarian Vice President Iliyana Yotova. Switzerland shows interest in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and in Albania. About half a million citizens from these countries are already Swiss citizens. Switzerland is ready to participate in joint infrastructure and transport projects with Bulgaria in these countries, Berset said. The President of the Swiss Confederation welcomed Bulgaria's initiative to put the Western Balkans as a major foreign policy priority during the presidency of the Council of the EU.
