At its regular weekly session, the Council of Ministers in Sofia decided that the deadline for searching and exploration of oil and natural gas in “Block 1-21 Khan Asparuh” would be extended by two years at the request of the licensees - Total, OMV and Repsol.

The block is located in the exclusive economic zone of Bulgaria in the Black Sea and is being explored on the basis of a contract that expired at the end of January.

During the two-year extension, additional geological and geophysical works and seismic surveys, worth 3 million euros, will be carried out.
