Bulgaria’s Patriarch Neophyte and Russia’s Patriarch Kirill served on the historical Shipka Peak a requiescat for the heroes who lost their lives for Bulgaria’s liberation. Patriarch Kirill prayed for the spiritual link between the Bulgarian and the Russian people to remain inviolable and last forever. Bulgaria’s Patriarch Neophyte said that the Shipka Monument of Freedom has remained one of the brightest symbols of the centuries-old friendship between Bulgaria and Russia, a symbol of mutual love and Orthodox Christian unity.
