New tourist trail will popularize Mount Strandzha

Strandzha tourist trail

A 170-kilometre, 9-day trek across Mount Strandzha will promote year-round tourism in the mountain, which is home to many protected plant species.

The trail, most of which is across flat ground, offers beautiful views and cultural landmarks along the way. It passes through 16 villages and 2 towns, starting from Tundzha River and ending at the Black Sea. The most popular such itinerary in Bulgaria is Kom-Emine, but it is for advanced hikers who are in good physical condition. The idea of Strandzha tour is to breathe life into mountain tourism by attracting hikers from all over the country and from abroad.
