This is the time for the Balkans to demonstrate common sense and to prove to Europe that they do not generate problems and are a good place to invest, said PM Boyko Borissov at the annual government meets business meeting taking place in Sofia.

Bulgarian National Bank governor Dimitar Radev commented that there are no technical differences between the Bulgarian National Bank and the European Central Bank with regard to the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria, and to move closer to the Eurozone, this country needs outpacing economic growth.

Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov on his part emphasized that the European Central Bank has never officially pointed to corruption as a barrier to Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone, and that the main problem in this regard is to bring the economy and incomes closer, and that this is the reason why the government will continue with the policy of raising minimum incomes, as it has declared it will.
