The development of gas projects on the territory of Bulgaria has been discussed at a meeting in Davos between Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and head of Royal Dutch Shell’s global upstream business, Andrew Brown.

During the talks, Bulgaria was praised for its initiative to create the European gas distribution center "Balkan," highlighting the importance of the project for diversification of gas sources and routes to Bulgaria and Southeastern Europe.

PM Borissov pointed out that future extraction from the Han Kubrat oil and gas block in the Black Sea was one of the options for diversifying sources. Andrew Brown said his company expected to start drilling in the block by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
