Sofia hosts COSAC meeting

Sofia is hosting a meeting the Conference of the Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union, COSAC, marking the start of the parliamentary dimension of Bulgaria’s Presidency of the Council of the EU.

In her address, Bulgarian National Assembly President Tsveta Karayancheva stated that in almost 30 years, the format is proving to be a success for the participation of parliaments in the decision-making process on issues from the European agenda and a guarantor of citizens’ democratic control over the European Parliament. The forum is focusing on the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency – young people, economic growth, the digital economy, the Western Balkans, the future of Europe, the policy of cohesion.
