A demonstration of non-governmental organizations demanding imediate ratification of the Istanbul Convention was held today in front of the Bulgarian National Assembly. Bulgarian pensioners demanding higher pensions also launched protests on Thursday. Although Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov promised today an extra EUR 50 million for salaries at the Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior, the Police protests planned for January 11 will not be cancelled. Protests against the decision of the Bulgarian cabinet for construction of new sport facilities in two ski zones in Pirin Nature Park will be held in several Bulgarian cities. A street procession in support of the development of the winter tourism in the mountain regions and the decision of the cabinet to build second cable car in Bansko will be also held in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.
