Bulgaria provides humanitarian aid to flood-stricken Albania

Bulgaria has provided aid worth about 35,000 euro to flood-stricken Albania.

After the European Union has been asked for support for dealing with the disaster, this country has been the first to respond with immediate delivery of basic commodities.

The volume of aid is 8 tonnes including tents, matrices, blankets, first aid kits and other basic stuff. It has been provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Ministry of Interior and the Bulgarian Red Cross.

Thousands of families have suffered the consequences of floods in Albania in the wake of heavy rains in the Balkans. Floods have destroyed some 30 bridges, with the southern parts of the country worst hit by adverse weather.
