Prime Minister Borissov meets King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has met with King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during the three-day official visit of a Bulgarian government delegation to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said Prime Minister Borissov's visit was a big step in the development of relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Borisov and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud discussed the opportunities for further development of trade and economic relations. Perspective spheres of bilateral cooperation spheres were said to be innovation, energy, transport, tourism, science, food security.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister has expressed his support towards efforts to ensure the stability of the Arab Gulf states, which are key partners of the EU and an important factor in the fight against terrorism.

An agreement to avoid double taxation and a cooperation agreement in the sphere of agriculture, livestock and fisheries between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia will be signed during the official visit, it was reported.

This is the first visit of such a high level in the history of diplomatic ties between the two countries that date back to 1995.
