Bulgaria still global leader in lavender oil production and export

Bulgaria is still the global leader in production and export of lavender oil in 2017. That is what CEO of the Bulgarian National Association Essential Oils, Perfumery and Cosmetics (BNAEOPC), Nikolina Uzunova, said in an interview for the Focus Agency.

She adds that over the past years global interest towards lavender oil has increased which has made more Bulgarian producers turn focus on its production. Germany, France and England are Bulgaria’s traditional markets, with highest export rates registered.

North America, Japan and China are also destinations with blossoming aromatherapy sectors, so a growing number of essential oil is being exported to those markets, too.
