Bulgarian Orthodox Church to assist in establishing Macedonia’s church status

At a meeting in Sofia, the Holy Synod promised that the Bulgarian Orthodox Church would fully cooperate in establishing the canonical status of the Macedonian Orthodox Church and would intercede and be advocate for it before other Orthodox Churches.

The Synod's decision reads that the commitment is viewed by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church as a sacred duty, given that the Macedonian church recognized the Bulgarian one as its parent-church.
