Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy is paying a visit to Catalonia today, where he will support his People's Party in the campaign for early regional elections on December 21st. This is the first visit Rajoy to Catalonia after Madrid dissolved the parliament and the government of the region for trying to separate into an independent state.
Last night over 750 million people protested against arrests of members of the Executive Council of Catalonia for their role in the recent independence referendum.
